Chess makes kids smarter! How? Well, chess is all about focusing, concentrating, thinking ahead, weighting options, visualizing, planning, learning to shift between concrete and abstract thinking, and, at the same time, juggling about a dozen considerations in your mind. It may sound challenging, but the kids love it! Join a great group. Sign up today!

A major goal in this class is improving the student's ability to visualize ahead and analyse positions. Ribbons will be awarded to children who place near the top of their playing groups. USCF membership required, as games will be rated.

The analysis in this class is more detailed. Strategic themes and principles are highlighted, and our study of opening systems and the related middlegame ideas goes more in-depth. Note: Adults rated Under 1600 will be allowed to sign-up for this class. Games in this class will be USCF rated, and the top scoring players receive ribbons.
